How to use characteristic as key figure for short text planning

Hi everyone,

 

currently, I'm trying to use a characteristic as key figure for short term planning.

This function is available since SAP NW 7.40 SP08 as described in this document.

 

I created a plain characteristic of the type CHAR without hierarchies or texts or master data and included this in a planning DSO.

The relevant characteristic is marked in the section "characteristic as key figure" and I included this characteristic in the key figure section of the aggregation level. The planning DSO contains only one additional characteristic and one additional key figure.

 

In the query designer the relevant characteristic is shown as a key figure and I marked both, the "real" key figure and the "planable" characteristic as input-ready. The single "real" characteristic has three entries as master data and I use this for the rows of the query. Both key figures are set up for the columns. Hence, I expect three rows and two columns as result of my query.


When I execute this query with BEx, the real key figure is input ready, but the characteristic as key figure is not.

 

Do I need to activate or deactivate any options in the setup of this characteristic?

What settings are need for the characteristic, if I want to use this for short text planning?

Are there any settings in the SPRO (or any other part of the BW backend), for the DSO, the aggregation layer or the query that I need to consider for this function to work?

 

I tried several different settings and options, but the cells of this characteristic ("as key figure") are not input-ready in the query.

 

Any help is highly appreciated.

BPC 10 install

Experts -

 

I just did an installation of BPC 10 on an AIX system.

 

After the install, I ran UJA_DATA_CHECKER.

 

One of the messages is "Missing data access profile ADMINMBRACCPRF in table UJE_PROFILE_AGR"

The other message is "InfoObject catalog /CPMB/ENVIRONMENTSHELL_CHAR is not available in version A"

 

Any help?

Anyone with experience or information around BW-IP on HANA (leveraging BW-IP with BW on HANA), or the direction from SAP on in-memory planning? I have seen a few blogs around the direction on in-memory planning (BPC vs IP), but most of them are focused on BPC NW on BW on HANA.

Hi experts,

 

I have a cube  with the following info-objet / ratio :

 

 

- 0CALDAY

- Activity Type ( spécific )

- 0CALMONTH

- 0CALYEAR

- Number of Agents

 

I want to create a workbook with variable selection on 0CALDAY ( interval selection ) and I have to generate combinations between all day in interval selection from 0CALDAY and Activity TYpe.

I use standard function 'generate combination ' based on function 0RSPL_CREATE_CR but it doesn't work, i have the following message :

 

relations between caract. are inconsistent .

How to add comment in BEX IP Query

Hello guys,

The business is requesting the ability to input a comment for each manually inputted value in a BEX IP Query.

For Reporting, the comment would only be needed at the inputted level, the rolled up values could be blank.

Is there any SAP standard solution to do that?

Any suggestion?

BP IP passing variables to planning seqences (abap)

Hello

 

I was looking for an answer for my question, so I will create new topic.

I need to run many planning sequences with variables passed from BEx (so some stuff in abap should be done).

There are two approaches:

1) via variant modifying and calling RSPLPPMRFC_PLSEQ_EXECUTE with such variant.

2) via enhancement(?) in FM RSPLPPMRFC_PLSEQ_EXECUTE and memory ids (?).

is there any other way how to do it in KISS (Keep It Simple ..) way.

In IP area, I think there not so many alternatives, but maybe some helpful class/FM

  Can anybody tell me how to create formula variables in sap bi? Iam able to create texts and characteristic value variables but to create formula variables, the selection box is disabled....

How to use CL_RSR_PARA change the parameter for planning sequence

Hi,

 

I am creating a program which will call " RSPLSSE_PLSEQ_EXECUTE" to run a planning sequence in a loop. And in that loop it will change the value of the variant which used for the planning sequence.

Simply I want to call a planning sequence many times and each time I change the parameter.

 

So I found the class CL_RSR_PARA. This class will read and update table RSRPARAMETRIZA to change variant. While I am not good at ABAP. So can someone help me figure out how to use the method CL_RSR_PARA=>CHANGE?

 

Could you please give me an example code?

Saving blank in input ready cell through IR Query

Hi,

 

My Question is regarding saving blank values in an input ready cell.

 

I have built an input ready Query, which works fine, so upon saving value for example KF1 = 30 for Customer = 12345 it does save this value.

Now, when i try to delete this value by selecting and backspace and try to save, the value (30) reappears.

At the same time, when i plan a value zero (0) instead this works fine.

 

I understand that logically a blank cannot be saved for a Key figure that is why when we delete or wipe off the key figure value it does not save, is there any backend settings where we can specify that when the value is deleted (i.e. if the KF is left blank) this value should be treated as zero?

reading var. via BPC framework/TREX (TREX_EXECUTE) in Planning Function

Hello.

 

I'm the beginner in BW area.

I need to read variables (in my case Data Version and Production Center - multiple values in Production Center) in Planning Function.

I'm using BPC framework (Interface IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_TREX_EXEC).

In method TREX_EXECUTE is access to class CL_RSPLFS_PARAM_SET.

the methods from this class returning Data version, Production Center also, but only one value, e.g. if You provide on filter two production centers for US and FRANCE, only the first one will be provided.


I tried to use CL_RSPLFR_CONTROLLER=>GET_ACTIVE_CHARSEL - data version was returning, but Production Center not - only HANA view(?).

as I said for the beginner it is quite strange.

BSC Value fields : how to assign value fields to measure

hi sap Experts,

 

I have created a query for a cube, In UMK_MB transaction in data source tab i select my key figure, i also created a vlue field,  howver when i goto transaction UMB_CUST to add value fields when i press on Read Data sources nothing is displayed .

 

on the other hand, i check UMB_MC100 table and dont have any infocube in fields.

 

can you help me, what is my mistake ?

How to add new rows for input ready query in BEx analyzer

Hello all,

 

How can I add new rows/records in BEx analyzer. I have supressed the result values for all the characteristics but couldn't suppress it for key figure.

 

By the way by supressing the result value and the overall result leads to the generation of new rows in input queries.

Planning query reads all the data

Hi,

 

I have a strange issue where in the planning query instead of just reading the data from the plan cube on which aggregation level is built.

It reads data from all the cubes.

 

Planning query is built on multiprovider which contains plan cube as well as basic cubes.

 

I have checked the Read Mode setting of the query and it is set to "H".

I have also regenerated the query in RSRT still it reads data from all the cubes.

 

Please help.

How to trigger planning function/sequence when opening BEx?

All, I want trigger/run a planning function/sequence before the data is shown in BEx analyzer. So we have the following steps

 

1. user opens BEx and chooses workbook

2. user enters the variables in the pop up screen

3. user hits ok

4. planning function/sequence is triggered

5. data is displayed in BEx analyzer

 

How can I implement step 4? I remember in BPS you could simply click a radio button if you wanted to execute a planning function before opening the lay out. How do I do that in IP?

Unit of Measure - ST

Hi Experts,

 

I have created a layout and I have fixed the value for data columns one of which is Unit of Measure.I have set the value of Unit of Measure as PC. But when I enter plan data in layout all the other data columns get populated as per the values set for them but the Unit of measure gets automatically converted from PC to ST.

what could be the reason for the same?

Integrated Planning : Save data of buffer between two function

Hi Gurus,

 

Do you know if it's possible to save the data of the buffer between two functions in one planning sequence IP?

 

I have tried to use this code at the end of the methode EXECUTE of the class for upload file:

 

  • Initialize BI-IP application

  lr_application = cl_rspls_plan_application=>get( ).

  lr_data_area   = lr_application->get_data_area( ).

  • Save data

  lr_data_area->save( ).

 

My problematic is in the sequence of the IP upload file, i have a second functions who must read the data of the infoprovider. Then i need to read also the data upload by user with the first function.

 

In BPS, we had the possibility to save data of the buffer between to function in PS with function 'API_SEMBPS_POST'. Can we do the same in Integrated Planning ?

Comments with BW IP

Hi guys,

 

I attended the TechEd this year in Berlin and I was told, that SAP will provide a reference implementation for commenting with SAP BW IP soon.

 

Is there anything available already, such as an How To Paper? Does anyone know, when we can expect such a "solution"?

 

At my customer site, I need to create a commenting possibility (more than 60 characters) directly within the WAD template - meaning, to create a comment in a column and also see in in the column of the query.

BW IP: Bex variable is not showing master data on F4 in input ready Query

Hi,

 

  We are on BW 7.4. we have created variable on characteristic which has master data and when we use this variable in characteristic restrictions in plan query and when we do F4 on this variable in RSRT, it is not showing master data. We have tried all the options at info object/info provider & query level by pointing selection filter to master data but not successful. Can you please help.

SEM BPS

Dear All,

 

We are planning to Upgrade BW 3.0B system and SEM BPS 3.1 B system . Both are resides in the SAME server.

Could  you please give more details about the SEM BPS.

  Is it a separate SAP System like CRM ? or is it a component?

 

How to plan for the upgrade approach for SEM BPS?. Is it possible to upgrade the both system into BW on HANA ?
